Online Surveys

This FAQ section has been based on queries we have received to date regarding our Online Survey data submission facility. We will continue to update this, so please continue to check this section where queries arise.

1. HOW TO SUBMIT SURVEY DATA ONLINE

I am interested in participating in the Garden Bird Survey online. Can you send please send me the link?

The Garden Bird Survey online can be accessed through the BirdWatch Ireland website (click Online Surveys on the homepage menu), or through the Garden Bird Survey homepage.
 

I would like to submit my data for other surveys online. Is this possible?

Yes, you may gain access to the following online surveys by contacting the survey coordinator (please click on the relevant link below):
Irish Wetland Bird Survey I-WeBS
Countryside Bird Survey CBS
Bird Atlas
 

2. QUERIES WITH ONLINE ACCESS

I have registered, but cannot get access to the online system. Can you help?

This probably means that you have not typed in your username and/or password correctly. Please note these are both case sensitive. Try typing in your username to the ‘Forgot your password?’ section as illustrated. Click submit, and your password will be sent to your email address.

I have typed my username & password in correctly and still cannot gain access to the online system.

3. GARDEN BIRD SURVEY ONLINE

I had 30 Fieldfares in my garden yesterday. Fieldfare is not listed on the garden bird form?

The default bird list comprises the top 30 most recorded species. You may add more species. Please see the pulldown menu that is located immediately above the table - select additional species, and they will appear at the bottom of your bird list on the main table. 
 

Yesterday, I had many species in my garden, and some are not listed in the pull-down list?

Make sure the species is not already listed in the main table. Otherwise, it is possible that you have mis-identified a species. Please check by contacting the survey administrator.
