Observatory Accommodation

The Observatory building is situated right beside the Harbour and therefore in an idyllic spot. The downside to this is that it means that we are not particularly well positioned for families with young children. The building was completely modernised in 2000, is centrally heated and can take seven guests on a self-catering basis. Staying visitors have the use of the extensive Library, dining room, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom facilities. There are three bedrooms, a twin, a very small single and a 'family'/group room with four beds. Where single people are sharing a room, we endeavour to keep the rooms as single sex but in the busy periods this is not always possible.

Bookings can be made through BirdWatch Ireland and details can be found on http://shop.birdwatchireland.ie/birdwatchireland/product_info.php?cPath=57&products_id=457

During the quieter months, the Daily Log is called in the Library each evening - as opposed to being called in one of the bars during the busy, migration times - and visitors are welcome to listen and/or contribute to the records being taken.
