BirdWatch Ireland produces a quarterly magazine for its members, Wings. We hope to make this available on-line to them in due course.
Packed with birdwatching tips, games, competitions, puzzles and stories, Bird Detectives is the new twice-yearly 16 page magazine from BirdWatch Ireland dedicated to its youngest members. Join our intrepid investigator, Shelduck Holmes, as he uncovers the mysteries of birds' lives. How? By using his powers of de-duck-tion, of course!

We produce an annual scientific journal, Irish Birds. Each volume consists of four annual issues and it publishes papers and short notes on all aspects of birds in Ireland, as well as annual reports of Rarities, Scarce Migrants and Rare Breeders (all formerly included in the Irish Bird Report) and the Irish Ringing Report. Papers, notes, photographs and drawings are welcome from amateurs and professionals alike, and should be submitted to the editor before 31 August each year. All contributions are subject to editing, and it is the policy of Irish Birds to send all contributions to a referee. Papers involving the manipulation or disturbance of birds will be accepted only if the work described conforms to the relevant legal requirements. For full details of submission requirements see “Guidelines for Authors".
Irish Birds Volume 1, Number 1 was published in 1977. It superseded the Irish Bird Report, which was published annually from 1953 (number 1) to 1975 (number 23). The 24th Irish Bird Report appeared in the first issue of Irish Birds.
