Sunday 28 April: Outing to Fanore and Caher valley to search for sand-dune nesting birds, Dipper, rsummer migrants (e.g., Whitethroat, Blackcap, Wheatear). Meet at Fanore Beach car park at 11.00am. Leaders: John N Murphy, Páidí Cullinan.
Sunday 12 May: Dawn Chorus Day outing to Mullaghmore area of the Burren to see and hear Cuckoo, Blackcap, Willow Warbler, Whitethroat, possibly Yellowhammer. Meet at the Grotto, Corofin, at 5.00am. Leaders: Finbar MacGabhann, Nuala and Tom Lynch.
Note: The Clare Branch of BirdWatch Ireland is looking for reports of Yellowhammers anywhere in the county, but especially in the Burren. Numbers of breeding pairs have fallen considerably in recent years; their remaining stronghold is in the north and east of the Burren.
